WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS!
"Hieron" is the Greek
word for "temple". In the last several weeks, God appears to be opening doors for
Truth Baptist Church
in Guatemala City
to obtain a piece of property in a very strategic location in the area
of town where the church was started. Very few pieces of land are
for sale in this area.

We need
YOU
to Pray for:

THE WISDOM
- Wisdom from the Lord in every decision made by the church.
-
THE PRICE -
The Lord's intervention
in the negotiation of the price -
The land is valued at
around $180,000.00
plus about
$65,000.00 for the
building.
(We are talking about
land in an upper-middle-class section of the capital city.)
The church has around
$25,000.00 saved
up, and another $5000.00 promised, but it is
nowhere near enough for an outright purchase.

THE LOAN -
A good source for a
reasonable loan - In Guatemala,
the average interest rates
at three banks is around 14% APR
for a loan of this size.
God is able.
If you know of someone with means of loaning this amount of
money at a reasonable interest rate, please let me know as
soon as possible.

YOUR PART
- Your part in this
special project - The church here understands that it is
their responsibility to buy and pay for their own land and
building. I am
NOT
asking churches in the
United States to purchase a building for them. If,
however, God would lay it on your heart to give an offering
to help towards this purchase, it would be greatly
appreciated, as well as help reduce the amount of any loan
that will be needed for the purchase.

THE DETAILS

Well-known Location
- originally built as a "party place" for birthday parties, etc.

High Visibility
- on a well-traveled boulevard

Good Accessibility
- public
transportation (buses) pass directly in front of the building

Adequate Parking
- city regulations
require certain number of parking spaces (a premium in Guatemala
City)

Already Built
- no hassle of obtaining building permits, connections, contractors,
etc.

Adaptable Facilities
- very usable as a church building with very
little remodeling, including classrooms, office, kitchen, restrooms,
storage and main auditorium.

Sufficient Land
- about 1/4 of an acre
(65 ft x 165 ft) - the building
has approximately 3600 square
feet of construction.

Within Reach
- We begin
negotiations June
1st, 2009. The
owner would like a deal to be worked out by
June 15th,
if possible.

Over two years ago, the
church saw the building and enquired about the purchase, but we had
no means of down payment at the time. With the faithful tithing of
the church members we now have just over
$25,000.00
(U.S. Dollars) saved up for putting towards a piece of property and building.
The current owner (a
different one from 2 years ago) was not thinking of selling the
property. But, after being approached by a real estate agent who is a
member of our church and a former employee of the owner, he decided that
he would be willing to sell the property.
God has already answered
prayers by providing for:
-
The Sale
- Allowing this man to decide to sell a property he was not thinking
of selling.
-
The Parking
- Allowing the inclusion
of an addition piece of land directly behind the building that we
needed in order to comply with municipal guidelines for parking.
He initially said that piece was not for sale with the building.
He has since changed his mind.
-
The Consensus
- Allowing the membership of the church here to be in 100% agreement
about this piece of property - something that I didn't fully
anticipate. We had looked at other land. One was
slightly bigger, but in a bad location and they wanted $200,000.00
without any construction!
I feel that the Lord is in
this, the timing is right, the location is great and the people are
ready.
